The idea of inculcating Vedic methodologies in contemporary teaching stems from ancient times. Through Vedas, people were able to see the origins and depth of knowledge that encapsulates the true meaning of this universe. The Vedas also contain all aspects pertaining to the laws of the universe which reflect matter and consciousness.
By comprising all the aspects of what can be regarded as modern science, the Vedas formed the underlying pillars of the present world. This fundamental approach of amalgamating ancient principles with modern material sciences can be termed as Vedic Science. This covers three core skills essential for success.
- Assimilation: The aptitude to learn new concepts and unlearn old notions – Swami Vivekananda defines education as the practice of concentration and renunciation which corresponds to this.
- Communication: The ability to bring clarity to a vague idea and distil an argument to its essence – Language and logic are its two aspects.
- Empathy: Keen awareness of how others think and feel to enable one to connect with them – This is also called emotional intelligence, and is a key to teamwork.
Indian native educational method hones key learning skills (memory, logic and articulation) early on, and enables the student to apply them to master any subject quickly by oneself.
