The objective of the research is to explore the strategies in Arthshaastra to bring about Territorial Security, Political Sustainability & Psychological Integrity in Indian Subcontinent through the formation of a Union.
His interest and commitment to the nation and its eternal wisdom motivates him to undertake research in this topic.
He serves in the Indian Army. He post-graduated from M Sc in Vedic Sciences at MIT SVS, well-qualified with M Sc in Munitions, LLB and an MBA.
His topic of research is ‘ANUŚĀSANA (DISCIPLINE) AS MEANS TO ĀNANDA (DELIGHT)”, THEREBY RESULTING IN PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL- BEING’.
Aim of his research is not to just focus on the punishment viewpoint of Anuśāsana, which is a mere negative aspect, which is generally treated as paścāttāpa/ prayaścita. His thesis would aim to highlight the other important associated/ viewpoints of Anuśāsana, viz, Niyantraṇa, Niyamabaddha ācaraṇa, Svatah Siddha Anuśāsana, etc.
Based on the teachings of our ancient scriptures and Shaastras, he would like to develop a framework of a model that considers the impact of such Anuśāsana / disciplinary methods on the body/ minds of people, to crystalize the model of different Anuśāsana techniques which can be imposed externally, for Ānanda and psychological well-being, thereby, to change the attitude of the person who implements Anuśāsana and also of the person who is undergoing the rigours of learning the methods of Anuśāsana for attaining Ānanda.
The expected outcome of this research is a tailor-made disciplining of body and mind system depending on different parameters so that, with least of disciplinary/ Anuśāsana efforts, a person can be “in the state of Ānanda” in a short period and live a healthy life.
The same concept can be applied to children in schools on the lines of erstwhile Gurukula (of ancient India) to imbibe such concepts in totality so that they are ready to take on life as it comes. This research can generate an answer or solution to all the problems affecting the present and future generations using principles of our ancient scriptures.
He was motivated to work on this topic as he observed that almost all techniques for psychological well-being, mentioned in shaastras seem to be inter-related through Anuśāsana which include, following a certain given lifestyle, rituals, meditation, etc . This aspect of relation between Anuśāsana and Ānanda may be documented.
A chartered engineer by profession, he has post-graduated with M Sc in Vedic Sciences from MIT SVS. His previous qualifications are BE (Mech), MMS and LLB.
His research topic is ‘VEDIC RECLASSIFICATION OF DSM (DIAGNOSTIC AND STATISTICAL MANUAL OF MENTAL DISORDERS)’.
His objective is to help psychiatric and mental health practicing doctors for treatment from the perspective of Vedic knowledge wieldy and less complicated by its Vedic re-classification.
According to him, our Vedic literature and philosophy of life are based on purity of mind and Karma and that the control on indriyas (sense organs) and Chitta-vruttis (modes of the mind) are the basis of the philosophy. It is based on Tyaaga (voluntary sacrifice) and not on Bhoga (wanton enjoyment). Spiritual knowledge reduces the stress of the mind. The complicated and vast categories of Mental Disorders in DSM, can be looked upon in Vedic way, which would help reduce the complexity of DSM and it can be reclassified in a simple Vedic way based on the well-probed Shaastric classification. He envisages that the existing far-fetched / vast / complex DSM may become easy due to being available in the Vedic shaastras. This encourages him to work on this research topic.
He works as Vice-president, Transformation in an IT based firm. He is also a public speaker and coach with a flair for teaching. He completed his Masters’ certification in Vedic Sciences from MIT SVS and is previously qualified with an M Tech and CBA.
His research topic is ‘FRAMEWORK ON PERSONAL WELLBEING BASED ON AYURVEDA’. Through this research work he intends to come up with a framework to help improve modern lifestyles using Ayurvedic principles.
A framework of non-pharmaceutical personalized wellbeing interventions based on Ayurvedic principles that people adhering to varied lifestyles may adopt is envisaged as an outcome of this research.
Increased lifestyle diseases because of unique lifestyles of modern times concerns him and he wishes to provide a solution based in Ayurveda that is a science of well-being that is highly personalized in diagnosis and treatment based on individual psycho-physical constitution.
He is a practising Ayurvedic doctor and teacher, with his previous educational background in Ayurveda, human physiology and clinical research. He has completed Masters’ certification in Vedic Sciences at MIT SVS.
His research is in the topic of ‘THE UTILITY OF PANCHAKOSHA MODEL OF UPANISHADS IN ENHANCING THE KNOWLEDGE OF TRISKANDHA (HETU, LINGA AND AUSHADHA) AYURVEDA AND ITS APPLICATION IN TRIVIDHAUSHADHAM (YUKTIVYAPASHRAYA, DAIVAVYAPASHRAYA, SATVAVAJAYA AND NAISHTHIKI CHIKITSA).’
He is interested to see whether/ how Panchakosha Model helps understand these methods (of diagnosis and treatment) and add to the knowledge and enhance the understanding human well-being.
What motivates him to work on this topic is that the majority of all illnesses are attributed to the physical body. Involvement of mind, life force (PraaNa) and other Koshas that governs all the functions should also be taken into consideration while diagnosing a disease and planning a treatment.
