Prof. Dr. Kanchi Gopinath is a professor at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, in the Computer Science and Automation Department. He graduated from IIT-Madras (B.Tech, 1977). He obtained his Master’s degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison (MS, 1980) and was awarded Doctorate from Stanford University (Ph.D. 1988)
He has experience working at AMD (Sunnyvale, 1980-1982). He went on to do a Post Doctoral research at Stanford (1988-1989). He also briefly served at Sun Microsystems Labs (1990). His research interests are primarily in the computer systems area (Operating Systems, Storage Systems, Systems Security and Systems Verification).
