When/Why go for Counselling/Psychotherapy

Mental health and well being are essential for us to have fulfilling and functioning lives. Maintaining mental well being affects various spheres of our life such as academic, work, interpersonal relationships, family life and so on.

However, sometimes it may happen that certain life events, family or work environment, maladaptive coping (poor lifestyle, communication pattern , decision making, addiction etc.), mental or physical illness creates changes in the life patterns or creates hurdles that prevent us from satisfying even our needs.

Certain life events may cause significant changes in our lives that may be difficult to adjust to. These in turn cause blockages in our coping mechanism with the result that we end up with a dysfunctional life/lifestyle.

Counselling or therapy is open to all people irrespective of gender and age. You need not have a severe mental illness or significant impairment in functioning to seek professional help. Counselling is useful to improve your life, perspectives and relationships and enhance your functioning.

Services Offered at the Center

At the Centre for Integral Well Being we aim to provide the following services:

  • Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Intervention programs
  • Training programs for the team members of CoIW
  • Workshops and self-help groups for university students and target populations
  • Outreach and extension activities
  • Magazine and Blogging

For the Counselling and Psychotherapy services, we offer individual counselling with trained and experienced clinical psychologists. A multidisciplinary approach is taken in understanding the needs of the client, and a specialized treatment module will be created for each individual. The treatment plans will be derived from contemporary approaches such as CBT, REBT, Person Centred Therapy, Interpersonal psychotherapy and so on, and Vedic approaches like Ayurveda, Yoga, Mudra, Diet Aesthetics etc.
