MAM201 – Nyāya-vaiśeṣika Basic

Objective – To provide a brief introduction of the tradition of Nyāya system of thought and study the categories of the Nyāya ontology based on the Nyāya-sūtra of Gotama

Expected Outcomes:

• Understand the evolving nature of technical Indic knowledge systems that spelled widespread influence on other knowledge systems also
• Understand the cognition-centric approach in Indic knowledge systems which emphasized on logical validation and proposed mechanisms of expression to it
• Understand the classification schema in the Nyāya system and work on applying it in other spheres of knowledge/content/system
